September real estate sales were fairly low in Auckland. Is this a sign of a struggling market? No, it’s probably more a case of many property owners deciding to wait to sell until the rugby world cup and even the election is over. There are plenty of active buyers in the marketplace, many frustrated by the lack of properties available. It is a simple supply and demand situation ensuring the properties on the market at the moment receive strong attention from buyers. It will be interesting to see if we have a large amount of properties in the New Year roll onto the market once the rugby, election and Christmas are out the way.
